How I can help you

I help start-ups get going and existing businesses get better! I can help you think through your business concept, create a plan and understand how to finance your business. I can also help you create financial and sales projections and work with the accounting, cash flow, profit and loss, budgeting, record-keeping, and intellectual property (patents, copyrights and trademarks) issues you may confront. I also understand non-profit 501(C)s. I began my business career by starting a retail ski shop and building it to $1 million in sales. I sold that business when my daughter was born and became a stay-at-home mom-entrepreneur by opening a home-based portrait business that I sold 5 years later to return to school for an M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance. After receiving my M.B.A., Magna cum Laude, I worked as Assistant Controller/Systems Analyst at an Aluminum foundry and rolling mill in Ohio, then moved to Southern California to work as Project Financial Analyst and Internal Auditor at Hughes Aircraft, I managed budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting for several divisions at Disneyland Park. I left Disney to work as a Special Projects Consultant for Shell Oil, then spent 11-1/2 years at Digital Equipment Corporation as the Financial Manager for the Western States Vice President of Sales where I managed the budgeting, reporting, and awards programs for a 300 person sales force. I retired early and became a SCORE volunteer. Currently I work part-time doing marketing, accounting, and financial planning for a small family owned firm. In addition I run several small personal businesses (consulting for several former employers, painting/art beading and freelance writing), have served on non-profit boards, and occasionally perform with local theater groups.
